Dropping rope like weed onto the plate., using spontaneity and chance. Still using very warm colours, trying to capture some of that intensity

First stencil print, quite dramatic with the dark red ink, which makes it feel like blood vessels. A starting point for something more. The ghost looked promising too.

Came across this in the Geelong Gallery this week, and as usual felt so inspired by Judy Watsons' work: multiple dimensions and always a strong elemental presence . The dark rope floating in the foreground really stood out to me and gave me some ideas for using one of the thin seaweeds to create strong lines, whilst leaving space for other elements.
